Gay & Lesbian Health Services was incorporated in 1991 as a non-profit agency in Saskatoon working to address health and social issues in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, two-spirit and transgender (LGBTT) community.
GLHS welcomes and provides services to all people however they choose to define themselves in terms of sexual and gender identity, firm in our understanding that homophobia and heterosexism have an impact on the health and wellbeing of all in our society. We see our work as including but not restricted to advocacy, education, support and improved access to health services.
Based on our understanding of the key determinants of health, we endeavour, in our client services, to address the whole being and the environment in which the individual lives. We believe that our ongoing dialogue with the community provides the context and the knowledge which drive our programming.
GLHS provides a supportive place for people in our community regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, family and marital status, nationality, disability, gender, sexual orientation, age or income and social status.
